On this page
  1. Minimum Requirements Prediction (1080p, Low-Medium Settings, ~30 fps)
  2. DirectX: Version 12
  3. Recommended Requirements Prediction (1080p–1440p, High Settings, 60 fps)
  4. OS: Windows 11 64-bit
  5. DirectX: Version 12
  6. High-End / 4K Requirements Prediction (1440p–4K, Ultra Settings + Ray Tracing)
  7. Memory: 32–64 GB DDR5
  8. Important Notes

Minimum Requirements Prediction (1080p, Low-Medium Settings, ~30 fps)

OS: Windows 10 64-bit or Windows 11 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (or higher)

Memory: 16 GB RAM (dual-channel)

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 8GB / AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT 8GB

DirectX: Version 12

Storage: About 150–200 GB available space (SSD required, NVMe strongly recommended)

Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device

The minimum target is to get the game running at a playable frame rate at 1080p. A mechanical hard drive (HDD) can barely meet an open world’s real-time loading demands, with texture pop-in and stutter likely.

OS: Windows 11 64-bit

Processor: Intel Core i7-12700K / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X or a newer generation (such as Ryzen 7 7700 / i5-14600K)

Memory: 32 GB RAM (dual-channel)

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 / RTX 5070 class / AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT / RX 9070

DirectX: Version 12

Storage: 150–200 GB available space (NVMe SSD, Gen4 recommended)

Sound Card: Windows-compatible audio device

The recommended spec is the target most players should aim for, holding a smooth experience with higher settings and some ray tracing enabled. 32 GB of memory is the safer bet in complex urban areas with heavy AI simulation.

High-End / 4K Requirements Prediction (1440p–4K, Ultra Settings + Ray Tracing)

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D / Intel Core Ultra 9 class

Memory: 32–64 GB DDR5

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 / RTX 5090 or AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT

Storage: 200 GB+ high-speed NVMe SSD (Gen4/Gen5)

This tier can push for native 4K or high-frame-rate ray tracing, with headroom left for later mods and updates.

Important Notes

SSD is a hard requirement: open-world real-time streaming is extremely sensitive to storage speed, and an HDD is essentially unusable.

Memory and VRAM: 16 GB of RAM is the floor, and 32 GB is more comfortable; for graphics cards, at least 8 GB of VRAM is advised, and 12 GB or more is steadier at high settings.

Upscaling technology: DLSS, FSR, XeSS and similar super-resolution technologies are expected to be supported, significantly easing the load on the GPU.

PC release timing: going by the experience of GTA5 (about 18 months after consoles) and RDR2 (about 12–13 months), the PC version will most likely arrive between late 2027 and 2028.

All figures are predictions at this point. Until Rockstar makes an official announcement, don’t treat them as your only basis for upgrading.
